Red Kelly

Red Kelly (July 9, 1927 Simcoe, Ontario-) is a Canadian ice hockey player and coach.

He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 20 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Los Angeles Kings, winning eight Stanley Cups. He was known for his remarkable skill as both a defenseman and center, earning him the nickname "Red" for his fiery mane of hair. After retiring from playing, Kelly became a successful coach, leading the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Los Angeles Kings. In 1969, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a player. His number 4 jersey has been retired by both the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs, a rare honor in the NHL. Off the ice, Kelly was known for his dedication to Catholicism and activism in Canadian politics. He served as a member of parliament for the Liberal Party of Canada from 1962 to 1965.

Beckwith has composed a wide range of music including pieces for orchestra, chamber ensembles, vocalists and various solo instruments. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including the Order of Canada, the country's highest civilian honour, in 1997. He has taught at the University of Toronto and is also a published writer on topics including Canadian music and contemporary composition.

Frank Lennon (January 26, 1927 Toronto-August 22, 2006) was a Canadian journalist and photographer.

Lennon began his career as a freelance photographer in the 1940s, eventually joining The Toronto Star in 1949 where he worked until his retirement in 1993. During his time at The Star, he covered a wide range of topics including news, sports, and entertainment. He was best known for his iconic photograph of Paul Henderson's game-winning goal in the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and the Soviet Union. Lennon was inducted into the Canadian News Hall of Fame in 1985 and posthumously inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

Stanley Saunders

Stanley Saunders (May 3, 1927 Newport, Wales-) is a Canadian conductor.

He grew up in Vancouver and began his career as a violinist, studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He later turned his focus to conducting and became the Artistic Director of the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra in the 1950s. Saunders has also worked as the conductor of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, as well as with orchestras in Edmonton and Halifax.

Saunders has been a strong advocate for Canadian music throughout his career, and has premiered many works by Canadian composers. He was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1992 for his contributions to Canadian music. In addition to his conducting career, Saunders has also served as a professor at the University of British Columbia's School of Music.
