Lhasa de Sela (September 27, 1972 Big Indian, New York-January 1, 2010 Montreal) also known as Lhasa De Sela, Lhasa De Selha or Lhasa was a Canadian singer-songwriter.

Her albums: The Living Road, La Llorona, Lhasa and Rising. Genres she performed: World music, Folk music and Alternative rock.

Lhasa was born in upstate New York to an American mother and a Mexican father. Her family eventually settled in San Francisco, where she grew up speaking Spanish and English fluently. At the age of 19, she moved to Montreal, where she began playing music and performing in clubs.

Her breakthrough album, La Llorona, was released in 1997 and featured songs sung in Spanish, French, and English. The album was critically acclaimed and won a Juno Award (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) in 1998 for Best Global Album.

Lhasa continued to release albums and tour throughout the 2000s, gaining a reputation as a powerful and emotive performer. Her music was often described as "haunting" and "intimate," and her lyrics explored themes of love, loss, and identity.
