José Bohr
José Bohr (September 3, 1901 Bonn-May 29, 1994 Oslo) also known as Yopes Bohr Elzer was a Chilean screenwriter, film producer, film director, actor, film score composer and film editor.
Bohr began his career as a musician, playing the piano and composing music for silent films. He soon moved on to writing screenplays and directing films, becoming one of the most prominent figures in the early Chilean film industry. Over the course of his career, Bohr directed over 50 films and acted in dozens more. He also composed music for many of his own films, and for others as well. In addition to his work in film, Bohr was also a prolific songwriter, writing and performing his own music as well as collaborating with other musicians. He spent much of his later life in Norway, where he continued to work in the film industry until his death in 1994. Bohr's contributions to Chilean cinema and music have made him a legendary figure in his home country and beyond.
