Born in China, he immigrated to the United States as a teenager to pursue his acting career. Pan later went on to work in radio as a producer and actor, as well as a voice actor in animated films. He was also active in the Chinese American community, serving as president of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance. Pan passed away in 1990 in Los Angeles at the age of 86.
