He was a professional soccer player who played as a central defender for various teams, including the Costa Rican national team. Marshall started his career with Brujas FC in 2004 and helped the team win their first-ever national championship in 2009. He also played for Aalborg BK in Denmark and for the Major League Soccer (MLS) team, the Sporting Kansas City.
