Guillermo de Cun

Guillermo de Cun (February 10, 1929 Havana-September 9, 2009 San Juan) a.k.a. Guillermo R. De Cun was a Cuban actor, writer, television director, television producer, radio producer, screenwriter and music director. His children are Mercedes Cun and Guillermo Cun.

De Cun began his career in the entertainment industry in the 1950s, working as a radio producer for Havana's Radio Cadena Suaritos. In the following years, he also worked as a screenwriter and music director for various Cuban radio and television programs. In the early 1960s, De Cun moved to Puerto Rico, where he continued working in television and film.

De Cun was particularly known for his work as a producer and director of telenovelas, which became extremely popular throughout Latin America in the 1970s and 1980s. Some of his most notable productions include "Cristal," "La Colorina," and "El Idolo." He was also the creator of the popular Puerto Rican variety show "El Show de las 12" and produced and directed numerous other television programs throughout his career.

De Cun was awarded the Latin ACE Award for Lifetime Achievement in Television in 2007. He passed away in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2009 at the age of 80.
