Gonzalo de Quesada y Aróstegui (December 15, 1868 Cuba-January 9, 1915) otherwise known as Gonzalo de Quesada y Arostegui was a Cuban writer and politician.
He was born in Havana, Cuba and studied at the Jesuit-run Colegio de Belen. Quesada was a staunch advocate for Cuban independence and fought against Spanish rule in Cuba during the War of Independence. He later went on to become a diplomat for the Cuban government, serving as the Cuban Minister to Japan and the United States of America. Quesada also served as the editor of the Cuban newspaper La Discusión. In addition to his political work, Quesada was a prolific writer, publishing numerous articles and books on Cuban history and politics, as well as poetry and fiction. He died in New York City at the age of 46.
