Jan Letzel (April 9, 1880 Náchod-December 26, 1925 Prague) was a Czech architect.
He is best known for designing the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, which later became the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum after it was destroyed during the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Letzel designed the building in a distinctive Western-style, with a domed center and two wings on either side, and it was completed in 1915. Although Letzel himself never visited Japan, he was greatly influenced by Japanese art and design, which is evident in the building's ornamental features such as the dragon sculptures on the roof. Sadly, Letzel died at the young age of 45, before he could see the impact of his most famous work.
