Jansø studied at the Royal Danish Theatre and made her stage debut in 1933. She went on to perform in various theaters across Denmark and also made appearances in Scandinavian and German films. In the 1950s, Jansø became a leading actress at the Royal Danish Theatre, where she remained until her retirement in 1976. She received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career, including the Order of the Dannebrog.
