Stroyberg was born in Odense, Denmark in 1936. She started her career as a model, but later switched to acting. Some of her notable film appearances include "Les Liaisons dangereuses" (1959) and "The 1,000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse" (1960).

Inga Arvad began her career as a journalist in Denmark, where she worked as a correspondent for several American newspapers. In the 1930s, she moved to the United States and became a naturalized citizen in 1940. During World War II, she worked for the Office of Naval Intelligence and was involved in monitoring Nazi propaganda.
In 1941, Arvad met and began an affair with John F. Kennedy, who was then a young naval officer. Their relationship was deemed inappropriate due to Arvad's alleged ties to Nazi spies, and Kennedy was instructed to end it.
