Salomé Ureña (October 21, 1850 Santo Domingo-March 6, 1897 Santo Domingo) was a Dominican writer and poet.

Her influential works include "Mi Libro de Lectura" (My Reading Book), which was used as a primary school textbook in the Dominican Republic for many years. Ureña was also the founder of the first women's college in the country, which was later renamed in her honor. Additionally, she was the first woman to be admitted to the Dominican Academy of Language. Ureña's writing often contained themes of feminism and nationalism, and she is considered to be one of the most important literary figures in Dominican history.
