Louis Borel

Louis Borel (October 6, 1905 The Hague-April 24, 1973 Amsterdam) otherwise known as Lodewijk Borel or Louis Borell was a Dutch actor.

Borel began his career in theater and later transitioned to film, appearing in notable Dutch movies such as "Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates" (1958) and "The Cool Lakes of Death" (1963). He also worked as a director, writer and translator in Dutch theater. In addition to his work in the arts, Borel was known for his political activism, openly opposing fascism and advocating for democracy. He was also a member of the Communist Party of the Netherlands. During World War II, Borel was briefly imprisoned by the Nazis for his political views. Despite his prolific career and political activism, Borel's personal life remains relatively unknown.
