Ramses Shaffy (August 29, 1933 Paris-December 1, 2009 Amsterdam) also known as Shaffy, Ramses was a Dutch singer, musician and actor.

He died in esophageal cancer.

Ramses Shaffy spent his childhood in Egypt and studied at an English school in Alexandria. After moving to the Netherlands at the age of 19, he enrolled in the Amsterdam Theaterschool but left shortly after to pursue a career in music. Shaffy became a prominent figure in the Dutch entertainment industry in the 1960s and 1970s, releasing numerous albums and starring in several films and stage productions. He was known for his charismatic and flamboyant stage presence, as well as his soulful voice and poetic music. Shaffy was an openly gay man and his personal life heavily influenced his art, especially his later work, which was more introspective and melancholic. Despite struggling with addiction and financial difficulties throughout his life, Shaffy was widely beloved by the Dutch public and is considered one of the greatest Dutch performers of all time.
