He is best known for his work in Sweden, where he gained widespread popularity as a troubadour, writing and performing songs with a mix of Swedish, English, and Dutch lyrics. His music often dealt with themes of social justice, politics, and everyday life, and he is considered one of the most influential musicians in Swedish history. Erland Van Lidth De Jeude (June 3, 1953 Hilversum-September 23, 1987 New York City) otherwise known as Erland van Lidth de Jeude or Erland van Lidth was a Dutch actor, wrestler and opera singer. He had one child, Christiaan van Lidth de Jeude.

He is best known for his roles in movies such as "The Running Man", "Stir Crazy" and "Delta Force". Prior to his acting career, Erland was an accomplished wrestler and went on to represent the Netherlands in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He also had a passion for singing and performed in several operas in the Netherlands and the United States. Van Lidth tragically passed away at the age of 34 due to heart failure as a complication of his obesity. After his death, his family established The Erland Van Lidth De Jeude Memorial Foundation to support the arts and his legacy.
