Vaz Dias was known for her roles in Dutch and British films and television shows. She began her acting career in the late 1930s in the Netherlands, but her career took off in Britain after she fled there during World War II.

In Britain, Vaz Dias appeared in a range of films and television shows, including "The Saint" and "The Avengers". She was also a regular on the long-running radio soap opera "The Archers".

Vaz Dias was married twice and had two children. She was also a committed political activist, particularly in the areas of civil rights and anti-racism.
