Francisco León Franco

Francisco León Franco (October 13, 1832-April 5, 1880) a.k.a. Francisco Leon Franco was an Ecuadorean personality.

He was a lawyer, politician and diplomat who served as the President of Ecuador from 1878 until 1880. Franco was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and he obtained a law degree from the Central University of Quito. Franco held several political positions including Governor of Guayas Province, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and President of the National Convention. During his presidency, he focused on ending border disputes with neighboring countries, improving the country's infrastructure, and the establishment of the first telegraph line between Quito and Guayaquil. Franco died while in office due to a heart attack at the age of 47. He is remembered as a respected figure in Ecuadorian history and politics.
