Marti Caine (January 26, 1945 Sheffield-November 4, 1995 Wycombe District) a.k.a. Lynne Shepherd, Lynne Denise Shepherd or Caine, Marti was an English comedian, actor, dancer, presenter, singer and writer. Her children are called Lee Stringer and Max Stringer.
She died caused by cancer.
Marti Caine began her career as a dancer in the 1960s and appeared on several TV shows including "The Benny Hill Show" and "The Two Ronnies". She then moved onto comedy and became a popular stand-up comedian in the 1980s. She had her own TV show called "Marti Caine" which aired between 1986 and 1988, and also appeared on other shows such as "Blankety Blank" and "New Faces". In addition to comedy and TV, Caine was also a successful singer, with her biggest hit being "Love the Way You Love Me" which reached number two on the UK charts in 1981. Caine was also a writer, publishing an autobiography called "Behind the Smile" in 1985, and several novels including "Oh, Marti" and "Marti". She was married to musician and record producer, David Whitfield, until his death in 1980.

She was married to fellow musician Joe Brown and they had three children together. After her death, her daughter Sam Brown achieved success as a singer-songwriter in her own right.
