Jack Wild is best known for his role as the Artful Dodger in the 1968 film "Oliver!" which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Wild began his career in show business at a young age, performing in local theater productions and eventually landing the role in "Oliver!" He went on to star in several other films and television shows such as "H.R. Pufnstuf" and "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." Despite his early success, Wild struggled with alcoholism and at the age of 40 was diagnosed with mouth cancer, which ultimately led to his death in 2006.
