Gianni Manera (February 18, 1940 Asmara-June 10, 2013 Rome) a.k.a. John Manera was an Eritrean actor, screenwriter and film director. He had one child, Alma Manera.

Manera started his career in the 1960s in Italian cinema, where he was featured in films such as "La Violenza: Quinto Potere," "Francesco d'Assisi," and "L'Odio è il Mio Dio." He later transitioned to screenwriting and directing, creating films such as "Io, tigro" and "Zio Adolfo, in arte Führer." In addition to his work in film, Manera also acted in various television series throughout the years.
