Juhan Viiding

Juhan Viiding (June 1, 1948 Tallinn-February 21, 1995 Rapla) was an Estonian actor and poet. He had one child, Elo Viiding.

Viiding was one of the most influential poets of the 20th century in Estonia. He was known for his experimental and provocative style of writing that challenged the norms of traditional literature. He gained popularity in the 1970s when he started performing his poems on stage, often accompanied by music.

Aside from his contributions to literature, Viiding was also an accomplished actor. He appeared in numerous films and TV shows in Estonia, and even won the Best Actor award at the Tallinn Film Festival in 1981 for his role in the film "Surma hinda".

Viiding's life was marked by tragedy and mental health struggles. His first wife committed suicide in 1979, and he himself suffered from depression and alcoholism. He tragically took his own life in 1995 at the age of 46, leaving behind a legacy as one of Estonia's most influential and groundbreaking artists.
