He had a significant impact on Estonian literature, with works ranging from novels to plays to essays. One of his most famous works is the novel "Brecht in the Bathroom," which was translated into several languages and became a cult classic. In addition to his work as a writer, Unt was also a renowned theater director and playwright. He co-founded the influential Estonian theater group Urvaste Kihelkonna Teater in 1968 and remained an active member until his death in 2005. Throughout his career, Unt was recognized with numerous awards for his contributions to the arts in Estonia, including the Order of the White Star.
