Meles Zenawi

Meles Zenawi (May 9, 1955 Adwa-August 20, 2012 Brussels) also known as Meles Zenawi Asres or Mäläs Zenawi Äsräs was an Ethiopian politician. He had three children, Senay Meles, Semhal Meles and Marda Meles.

Meles Zenawi served as the Prime Minister of Ethiopia from 1995 until his death in 2012. He was also the chairman of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), the ruling party of Ethiopia. During his tenure, he implemented various economic and political reforms aimed at modernizing Ethiopia and reducing poverty. He played a key role in the establishment of the African Union and was a respected leader in the African continent. However, he was also criticized for his authoritarian approach to governance and human rights violations. In addition to politics, Zenawi was a talented writer and poet and published several books throughout his career.
