Juliano Mer-Khamis was born to a Jewish mother and an Arab Christian father in Nazareth, Israel. He grew up in a diverse environment which inspired his passion for promoting co-existence and understanding between different cultures. Mer-Khamis studied theater in Tel Aviv and changed his name to Juliano Mer for his acting career. He starred in several Israeli films and television shows before moving to London and then the United States to pursue further study and work in theater.
In 1982, Mer-Khamis returned to Israel and established the Freedom Theater in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank. The theater aimed to empower the local community through artistic expression, especially among young people. Mer-Khamis directed many plays and documentaries, which focused on issues such as oppression, injustice, and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Mer-Khamis faced many challenges during his career, including death threats and assassination attempts by extremist groups who opposed his work for peace and co-existence. Tragically, he was shot dead in 2011 by a masked gunman outside the Freedom Theater, leaving behind his wife and son. Igo Sym began his acting career in the 1920s, performing in theaters across Germany and Austria. He became well-known for his comedic roles and appeared in a number of successful films during the 1930s.
With the outbreak of World War II, Sym joined the German army and fought on the Eastern Front. However, he was soon discharged due to health reasons and returned to acting.
In 1940, Sym was invited to perform in Warsaw, where he decided to stay and work for the Polish resistance. He used his entertainment skills to smuggle news and messages, as well as to lift the spirits of the oppressed population.
Sadly, Sym was captured by the Gestapo in early 1941 and executed at Pawiak prison in Warsaw. Despite his short time in Poland, he became a symbol of resistance and his legacy continues to be celebrated today.

Haing S. Ngor was born in French Indochina, which is now known as Cambodia. He studied to become a doctor and, before becoming an actor, he worked as a physician in Cambodia. In 1975, he was imprisoned by the Khmer Rouge and survived four years in labor camps, where he was tortured and witnessed the deaths of his wife and child.
In 1980, Haing S. Ngor moved to the United States and began working as an actor. He is best known for his role as Dith Pran in the movie "The Killing Fields", which is based on his experiences during the Khmer Rouge regime. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Dith Pran in the movie.
Aside from acting, Haing S. Ngor was also an author. He wrote a memoir titled "Haing Ngor: A Cambodian Odyssey", which tells the story of his life before and after he became an actor. The book details his experiences living under the Khmer Rouge regime and his journey from Cambodia to the United States.
Haing S. Ngor's life was tragically cut short when he was murdered in 1996 during a robbery outside his home in Los Angeles. He was 55 years old.
