Frederick Worlock
Frederick Worlock (December 14, 1886 London-August 1, 1973 Woodland Hills) also known as Freederic Worlock, Frederic Warlock, Frederic Worloc, Frederic Worlock or Fred Worlock was a British actor.
He began his acting career on the stage, performing in London's West End and on Broadway in New York City. He made his film debut in the 1932 crime drama "Devil's Lottery" and went on to appear in over 100 films, often in supporting or villainous roles. Some of his most notable film credits include "Rebecca," "Gaslight," and "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir." He also appeared on television, including a recurring role on the series "Perry Mason." In addition to his work as an actor, Worlock was also an accomplished voice actor, lending his voice to numerous animated films, including Disney's "Peter Pan" and "Alice in Wonderland." He retired from acting in the early 1960s and died in 1973 at the age of 86.
Frederick Worlock was born in London, England, and educated at the Bedford School. Prior to launching his acting career, he worked in banking. He became interested in acting while serving in the British Army during World War I, and began performing with amateur theatrical companies. After the war, he pursued an acting career full-time, joining the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and performing in a number of Shakespearean productions.
Worlock was known for his distinctive voice and suave demeanor onscreen, which made him particularly well-suited for roles as lawyers, butlers, and other "gentlemanly" characters.
