Miriam Margolyes (May 18, 1941 Oxford-) also known as Miriam Margolyes OBE or Miriam Margolyes, OBE is an Australian actor and voice actor.
She was born in Oxford, England but moved to Australia in the 1960s. Margolyes has had a successful career in both film and television, appearing in popular movies such as "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," "Romeo + Juliet" and "The Age of Innocence." She has also worked extensively in voice acting, lending her voice to animated movies such as "Mulan," "Happy Feet" and "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole." In addition to her work as an actor, Margolyes is also a writer and has published several books on her travels and experiences. Sadhana Shivdasani was one of the leading ladies of Bollywood during the 1960s and 70s known for her grace and beauty. She was born in Karachi, which is now in Pakistan, and migrated with her family to Mumbai after the Partition in 1947. Sadhana made her acting debut with the film Love in Simla (1960) which was a huge success and catapulted her to stardom. Her iconic hairstyle, called the "Sadhana cut," became a trendsetter and was widely copied by women across India.
She gave many successful films such as Mere Mehboob (1963), Woh Kaun Thi? (1964), Rajkumar (1964), Waqt (1965), Arzoo (1965), and Mera Saaya (1966). Her onscreen pairing with actor Shammi Kapoor was hugely popular, and they delivered several hit films together. Sadhana was also known for her association with the legendary filmmaker, Yash Chopra, and starred in his directorial debut, Dhool Ka Phool (1959), as well as his classics like Waqt (1965) and Yash Chopra's first color film, Joshila (1973).
Sadhana Shivdasani was recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002, for her contribution to the Indian cinema. She was also appointed as the Sheriff of Mumbai in 2002, becoming the first and only woman so far to hold the prestigious post. Despite her immense success in films, Sadhana retired from acting after her marriage to filmmaker R.K. Nikki Tilroe
Nikki Tilroe (December 26, 1941 Los Angeles-September 1, 2005 Derry) was an American puppeteer and actor.
She started her career as a puppeteer with the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Los Angeles. Tilroe moved to England in 1961 with her husband, fellow puppeteer John Blundall. There she continued to hone her craft and became a well-known puppeteer in the UK. She worked on several notable film and television productions, including the 1982 film The Dark Crystal and the TV series Fraggle Rock.
In addition to her puppetry work, Tilroe also had a successful career as an actress, both on stage and on screen. Her film credits include roles in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and The Killing Fields. She also appeared in several TV programs during her career, including Doctor Who and Bergerac.
