Richard was also a breast cancer advocate and spoke publicly about her own battle with the disease. She passed away in 2009 at the age of 65.

She was best known for her roles in British television dramas and soap operas, including "Howards' Way," "Peak Practice," and "The Bill." Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Farmiloe began her career in entertainment as a dancer before transitioning to acting. She later became a voiceover artist and author, publishing several autobiographical books about her life experiences, including her battle with cancer. In addition to her work in entertainment, Farmiloe was an advocate for breast cancer awareness and fundraising, having been diagnosed with the disease twice herself. She passed away at the age of 60 in London in 2014.
