Head won eight Academy Awards for Best Costume Design, the most won by anyone in that category to this day. Head was known for her signature style of dressing in simple, tailored clothes and a pair of tinted glasses. She was considered a trailblazer for women in the male-dominated industry of Hollywood and also played small roles in a few films.
