She was born in Hereford, England and began her career in the 1940s as a stage performer. She later transitioned to television and film, appearing in popular films such as "The Killing of Sister George" and "Room at the Top." Reid was known for her quick wit and sharp tongue, which made her a favorite on British talk shows. She was also an accomplished stage actress, earning an Olivier Award for her performance in "The Killing of Sister George" and a Tony Award nomination for her work in the Broadway production of "Amen Corner." In 1987, Reid was awarded the OBE for her contribution to British entertainment.

Amparo Rivelles (February 11, 1925 Madrid-November 7, 2013 Madrid) a.k.a. Virgen de los Desamparados Rivelles Ladrón de Guevara, Amparito Rivelles or María Amparo Rivelles y Ladrón de Guevara was a Spanish actor. She had one child, María Fernanda Rivelles.

Amparo Rivelles was a prominent figure in Spanish cinema during the 1940s and 1950s, starring in numerous films such as "Los últimos de Filipinas" (1945) and "Él" (1953). She also appeared in several films in Mexico, where she was known for her talent and charisma. In addition to her work in film, Rivelles was a successful stage actress, performing in productions of classics such as "La casa de Bernarda Alba" and "Romeo y Julieta."
