His children are called Maja Salvador and Jon Hernandez.

He was known for appearing in Filipino films during the 1950s up to the 1970s. Some of his notable films include "Ging", "Waldas", and "Beyond the Mark". Aside from acting, Navarro was also a talented singer and recorded several albums throughout his career. In the late 1970s, he retired from the entertainment industry and moved to the United States. However, he returned to the Philippines in the early 1980s to work as an entertainment columnist. He also became a successful entrepreneur, owning several businesses in the Philippines and the U.S. Navarro passed away in 2003 at the age of 67.
