Martti Similä

Martti Similä (April 9, 1898 Oulu-January 9, 1958 Lahti) was a Finnish actor and film score composer.

He began his acting career in the early 1920s as a member of the Kansan Näyttämö theater group in Helsinki. Later, he became a prominent figure in the Finnish film industry, appearing in over 80 films and composing music for over 30. Some of his most notable roles were in the films "Välikohtaus" (1935), "Mieheke" (1940), and "Tositarkoituksella" (1953). In addition to his work in film, Similä was also a prolific composer of songs and instrumental music, and was especially known for his waltzes. Throughout his career, he was recognized with numerous awards, including the Order of the Lion of Finland in 1956.
