Bruno Kastner (January 30, 1890 Forst-June 30, 1932 Bad Kreuznach) also known as Richard Otto Bruno Kastner was a German actor.
He was born in Forst, Germany and began his career on stage before transitioning to film. Kastner acted in over 70 silent films and early sound films during the 1910s and 1920s. He was known for his versatility, playing a range of roles from romantic leads to villains.
Kastner also tried his hand at filmmaking, writing and directing his first film "Der Fremde" in 1920, and went on to direct several more films including "Schatten - Eine nächtliche Halluzination" (Shadow - A Nighttime Hallucination) in 1923.
However, Kastner's promising career was cut short when he died at the age of 42 from complications related to alcoholism. He is buried in the Berlin Cemetery in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
