Eugenia Manolidou
Eugenia Manolidou (February 27, 1975 Athens-) also known as Eugenia Manolides or Eugenia Karagiannidou is a Greek composer, conductor and presenter. She has three children, Athanassios-Perseas Georgiades, Alexandros Manolides and Theodora Manolides.
Eugenia Manolidou began her musical studies in piano and voice in Athens, and later pursued composition and conducting studies in Germany and Austria. She has been awarded numerous prizes for her compositions, including the First Prize in the International Composition Competition “Franz Schubert and the Music of Modernity” in Graz, Austria.
In addition to her career as a composer and conductor, Eugenia Manolidou is also a well-known presenter on Greek television, and has hosted several music-related programs. She is a strong advocate for contemporary classical music, and has been involved in many projects to promote this genre in Greece and internationally.
Eugenia Manolidou is currently a professor of composition and theory at the University of Macedonia in Greece. She continues to compose and conduct regularly, and her works have been performed by ensembles and orchestras throughout Europe and the United States.
