He was known for his role in the Greek War of Independence against Ottoman Rule. Before the revolution, Striftombolas worked as a merchant in the Peloponnese region of Greece. With the outbreak of the war, he joined the rebellion and was appointed as a captain in the Greek army. Striftombolas participated in many battles, including the Battle of Valtetsi and the Battle of Dervenakia.

He was known for his bravery, leadership skills, and tactical abilities. His role in the war was crucial, as he assisted in many successful military campaigns against the Ottomans. Despite his achievements on the battlefield, Striftombolas was captured by the Ottomans in 1821 and was executed in Levidi.
