Jean-Claude Bajeux (September 17, 1931 Port-au-Prince-August 5, 2011) was a Haitian politician and democracy activist.
He was an important figure in the fight against the brutal dictatorship of François Duvalier, also known as "Papa Doc", and later against Duvalier's son, Jean-Claude. Bajeux was a founder of the Haitian Democratic Foundation, a human rights organization that helped to raise awareness about the oppressive conditions in Haiti under the Duvaliers.
In 1986, Bajeux played a key role in organizing the successful popular uprising that toppled Jean-Claude Duvalier and paved the way for democratic elections in Haiti. He also served as Haiti's Minister of Planning and External Cooperation from 1991 to 1992 under President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
Bajeux continued to work for democracy and human rights in Haiti until his death in 2011. In recognition of his activism, he was awarded the Order of Merit by the Haitian government in 1995 and the Médaille de la Résistance by the French government in 1996.
