Bill Tung was born in the city of Guangzhou, China and moved to Hong Kong at the age of seven. He first gained recognition as a jockey in Hong Kong's horse racing industry before transitioning to a career in acting. Tung appeared in over 120 films, often playing fatherly or humorous roles. He was best known for his collaborations with director Jackie Chan in films such as "Project A" and "Police Story." In addition to his acting career, Tung was also a beloved sports commentator for horse racing and soccer in Hong Kong. He passed away at the age of 72 after a battle with lung cancer. His child, known as "Uncle Hung," is also involved in the horse racing industry.
