Mária Szepes (December 14, 1908 Budapest-September 3, 2007 Budapest) also known as Mária Papir, Mária Orsi, Magdolna Scherbach, Magda Papir, Magda Balogh, Orsi Mária, Papir Magda or Orsy Mária was a Hungarian writer, journalist, actor and screenwriter. She had one child, Miklós Béla Szepes.

She is best known for her work in the field of esoteric and spiritual writing, having written many books on these subjects, including "The Red Lion", "The Door to the Secret City", and "The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life". Szepes was born into a Jewish family in Budapest and had a passion for writing and acting from a young age. She wrote her first novel at the age of 11 and later enrolled in the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest. During her career, she wrote for various newspapers and magazines and also translated works by famous authors such as Edgar Allan Poe and Oscar Wilde into Hungarian. Szepes was a deeply spiritual person and often incorporated themes of spirituality, mysticism, and metaphysics into her writing. She passed away in 2007 at the age of 98.
