He began his acting career in 1946 with the film, "Hum Ek Hain". Rehman is known for his roles in classic Bollywood films, including "Chaudhvin Ka Chand", "Pyaasa" and "Waqt". He was also a part of international productions such as "The Long Duel" and "The Party". In his career spanning over three decades, Rehman appeared in over 200 films. He was known for his versatile acting skills and his ability to play both positive and negative roles with equal ease. Despite being a prominent actor, Rehman was known for living a simple and private life. He passed away in 1984 at the age of 63 due to a heart attack.
