She has four children, Arpita Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan.

Helen was born to an Anglo-Indian father and a Burmese mother. After her father's death, the family moved to Mumbai where she was discovered by filmmaker C.I.Dee, who offered her a role in his film.
