Merle Oberon

Merle Oberon (February 19, 1911 Mumbai-November 23, 1979 Malibu) a.k.a. Estelle Merle O'Brien Thompson, Estelle Merle Thompson, Obie, Queenie O'Brien, Queenie Thompson, Queenie, Estelle "Queenie" Thompson, "Queenie Thompson", "Obie", Princess Merle, Lady Korda, Estelle Merle Oberon or Istel Merle O 'Brian Thompson was an Indian actor and film producer. Her children are called Bruno Pagliai Jr. and Francesca Pagliai.

Merle Oberon was born in Mumbai, India, to a British mother and an Anglo-Indian father. She began her career as a film actress in British films in the 1920s. Oberon moved to Hollywood in the 1930s, where she starred in numerous films, including "The Private Life of Henry VIII," which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She also received critical acclaim for her role in "Wuthering Heights" opposite Laurence Olivier. In addition to her acting career, Oberon co-produced several films, including "Berlin Express" and "Interval." Despite her success on screen, Oberon faced racial discrimination due to her mixed heritage and often presented herself as a South Asian or Latin American actress to avoid prejudice. Kalpana

Kalpana (July 8, 1943 South Canara-May 12, 1979 Gotur, Belgaum) also known as Sharat Lata, "Minugu Taare" Kalpana, "Minugu Taare", A Shining Star, Minugu Taare or Archana was an Indian actor.

She acted in over 300 films and was known for her versatility and natural acting skills. Kalpana started her acting career in 1963 with the Kannada film Bedara Kannappa, for which she won the National Film Award for Best Actress. She also acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi films.

In addition to acting, Kalpana was also a trained classical dancer and performed in several stage shows. She was known for her humanitarian work and was actively involved in social causes. Kalpana tragically passed away at the age of 36 in a private helicopter crash in Gotur, Belgaum while on her way to participate in a stage show. Her contribution to Indian cinema and her philanthropic work is remembered and celebrated to this day.
