K. B. Sundarambal

K. B. Sundarambal (October 11, 1908 Kodumudi-October 15, 1980 Chennai) also known as Kodumudi Balambal Sundarambal was an Indian singer and actor.

She was a prominent figure in the Tamil film and music industry during the 1930s and 1940s. Sundarambal began her career as a stage artist before making her debut in movies with the film "Sathi Leelavathi" in 1936. She went on to star in over 200 films and is well-known for her roles in films such as "Avvaiyar" and "Thiruvilayadal". Besides acting, Sundarambal was also a gifted singer and has lent her voice to several film songs. She was a follower of the Mahatma Gandhi and participated actively in India's freedom struggle.
