Teji Bachchan

Teji Bachchan (August 12, 1914 Faisalabad-December 21, 2007 Mumbai) a.k.a. تیجی بچن, तेजी बच्चन, ਤੇਜੀ ਬਚੱਨ or Teji Suri was an Indian teacher, actor and social activist. She had two children, Amitabh Bachchan and Ajitabh Bachchan.

Teji Bachchan was born to a Punjabi family in Faisalabad, British India (now Pakistan). After completing her education, she worked as a teacher in Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. She married the noted Hindi poet Harivanshrai Bachchan in 1941 and settled in Allahabad.

Apart from being a devoted wife and mother, Teji Bachchan was also actively involved in social work. She founded the 'Mahila Mandal' in Allahabad which aimed at empowering women and providing them with education and vocational training.

Teji Bachchan's son Amitabh Bachchan is a legendary Bollywood actor, while her other son Ajitabh Bachchan is a successful businessman. Teji Bachchan played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of her sons and remained a constant source of support and inspiration to them throughout her life.
