Sumitra Mukherjee (March 30, 1949 Kolkata-May 21, 2003 Kolkata) a.k.a. Hashi Mukherjee or Sumitra Mukhopadhyay was an Indian actor.

She is best known for her work in Bengali cinema and television. Sumitra Mukherjee started her career as a child artist in the film "Maa" (1958). She went on to act in more than 100 Bengali films, including "Sansar Simante" (1975), "Agnishwar" (1975), "Palatak" (1975), "Shankhabela" (1981), and "Pratikar" (1987). Sumitra Mukherjee won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film "Shwet Patharer Thala" (1992). On May 21, 2003, Sumitra Mukherjee passed away in Kolkata.

Apart from acting, Sumitra Mukherjee was also a trained classical singer and lent her voice to several films. She was particularly famous for her renditions of Tagore songs. Sumitra Mukherjee was a part of the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA) and worked in several plays with the theatre group. She was also associated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and was a vocal supporter of leftist ideology.
