Behrouz Vossoughi began his acting career in Iran in the early 1960s and quickly gained popularity due to his good looks and talent. Tillinger was born to a Jewish family in Tabriz, Iran where he spent his early childhood. In 1953, he and his family moved to the United States and settled in Chicago, Illinois. Tillinger initially pursued an acting career, studying at the Goodman Theatre School and appearing in numerous productions. In the 1970s, he transitioned to directing and has since directed over 200 plays, both on and off-Broadway. Some of his most notable productions include "The Sunshine Boys," "Love Letters," and "The Price." Tillinger has received numerous awards and nominations for his directing work, including four Drama Desk Award nominations and a Tony Award nomination for Best Direction of a Play for his work on "The Price." In addition to his theatre work, Tillinger has also directed for television, including episodes of "Law & Order" and "The Sopranos."
