Hossein Panahi

Hossein Panahi (August 28, 1956 Kohgiluyeh County-August 4, 2004 Tehran) was an Iranian actor, poet and author. He had three children, Leila Panahi, Ana Panahi and Sina Panahi.

He died in myocardial infarction.

Hossein Panahi was most notable for his roles in movies such as "The Deer" and "Bashu, the little stranger". In addition to his acting career, he was also a respected poet and author who published several collections of poems and wrote plays for theater. He was known for his outspoken political views and activism, often expressing his opposition to the political establishment in Iran. In 1981, he was imprisoned for his political beliefs and spent six years in jail. After his release, he continued to speak out against the government's policies and was eventually forced to leave Iran in 1997. Despite his exile, he remained a prominent figure in the Iranian artistic community until his untimely death in 2004. His contributions to Iranian cinema and literature have been widely recognized and honored posthumously.
