Fereydoon Hoveyda (September 21, 1924 Damascus-November 3, 2006 Clifton) a.k.a. Fereydūn Hoveyda or Fereydoun Hoveyda was an Iranian writer, politician, screenwriter, actor and diplomat. His children are called Mandana Hoveyda and Roxana Hoveyda.
Hoveyda graduated from the University of Paris with a degree in law and political science before returning to Iran to work as a lawyer. He eventually entered politics, serving as Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations and later as the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Education. He played a key role in advocating for Iran's stance on various international issues and was a vocal opponent of the Pahlavi regime's human rights abuses.
