Hikmat Sulayman

Hikmat Sulayman (April 5, 1889 Iraq-June 16, 1964 Baghdad) was an Iraqi politician.

He served as the Prime Minister of Iraq from 12 August 1937 to 24 March 1938 and again from 12 December 1950 to 20 December 1952. During his tenure, he introduced several noteworthy reforms in the areas of education, health care, and public services. Sulayman was also a key figure in the establishment of the Arab League and actively participated in regional and international politics, including the United Nations. In addition to his political career, he was a prominent figure in the field of translation and authored several books on Arabic literature, including "Studies in Modern Arabic Prose and Poetry." Sulayman was widely respected for his leadership and commitment to the advancement of Iraq and the Arab world.
