Frank McCourt (August 19, 1930 Brooklyn-July 19, 2009 Manhattan) also known as Francis McCourt or Francis "Frank" McCourt was an Irish writer, teacher and soldier. His child is called Margaret McCourt.

McCourt is best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir, Angela's Ashes. The book chronicles his childhood growing up in poverty in Limerick, Ireland. McCourt's family immigrated to the United States when he was a young adult, and he worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, including as a teacher in New York City schools. McCourt continued to write and publish several other books throughout his life, including 'Tis and Teacher Man. He also worked as an actor and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
