Massimo Troisi was born and raised in San Giorgio a Cremano, Italy. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian and writer for various Italian TV shows. Troisi went on to become a very successful actor, famous for his comedic style and talent.
In 1987, Troisi was nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for his role in the film "Il Postino" (The Postman). He was so dedicated to the film that he continued to work on it even though he was very ill. Sadly, he passed away just one day after the film's completion, never getting to see it released.
