Pier Angeli

Pier Angeli (June 19, 1932 Cagliari-September 10, 1971 Beverly Hills) also known as Anna Maria Pierangeli, Annamaria Pierangeli, Anna M. Pierangeli or Angeli was an Italian actor. Her children are called Perry Farinola and Howard Andrew Trovaioli.

She died caused by drug overdose.

Pier Angeli began her acting career in 1949 with the film "Domani è troppo tardi". She gained international recognition for her performances in films such as "Teresa" (1951), "Mam'zelle Nitouche" (1954), and "The Vintage" (1957). She was one of the finalists for the role of Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone with the Wind" (1939), but the role eventually went to Vivien Leigh.

Angeli was known for her beauty, and she was often compared to Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn. She was married twice, first to the Italian composer Armando Trovajoli and then to the American actor Vic Damone. She had two sons, Perry and Howard, both of whom became musicians. Tragically, Angeli died at the young age of 39 due to a drug overdose. Her death was a shock to her fans and loved ones, and it was a sad end to a promising career.
