However, he is most famous for his completion of Tomaso Albinoni's Adagio in G minor. Giazotto claimed to have discovered a manuscript fragment of the piece and used it as the basis for his completion in the 1950s. The piece was an immediate success and has since become one of the most popular and beloved pieces of classical music. Nicola Salerno (March 11, 1910 Naples-May 22, 1969 Naples) a.k.a. Nisa was an Italian lyricist, songwriter and composer.
He began his career in the 1930s, writing songs for several Italian singers. In 1953, he wrote the lyrics for the famous song "Tu Vuo' Fa' L'Americano," which was made popular by Renato Carosone. Salerno also worked with other renowned Italian singers such as Mina, Adriano Celentano, and Domenico Modugno, among others. He was known for his catchy and witty lyrics, which often commented on Italian society. In addition to his work as a lyricist, Salerno also composed music for films and television shows. Despite his success, Salerno died in relative obscurity in his hometown of Naples at the age of 59. However, his contributions to the development of Italian music continue to be celebrated and remembered to this day.
